Tips To Combat Acne Or Blemishes In Daily Life

Tips to prevent acne and blemishes in daily life

Acne or blemishes is a condition of clogged pores that create bacteria in the skin layer. Our body produces Androgen, which enlarges the oil-producing glands. This oil called sebum blocks pores and makes the skin greasy. To fight the bacteria produced by clogged pores, our body releases white blood cells. This creates an environment of non-oxygen, giving rise to inflammation and irritation. Check all tips to prevent acne.

Acne can occur on the body parts like the back, neck, chest, arms, anywhere. It is mainly caused because of hormonal disruption, as mentioned before. Other factors also contribute to acne, but they aren’t significant causes.

Removing acne can seem like an impossible task. For a person with blemish-prone skin, taking daily care of your skin becomes inevitable. Here we guide you with efficient tips to prevent acne, pimples, spots, or blemishes in control.

Wash your face twice a day

Washing your face twice a day helps remove the excess dirt, dust, sweat, and oil from your face. Keep these points in mind while cleansing your face daily.

  • Don’t use hot water for cleaning your face.
  • Pat dry your face and don’t rub.
  • Use a mild cleanser.
  • Try to look for benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid in your cleanser.

Going oil-free is your mantra

Stop using anything oil in it. Whether it’s your make-up, skincare, sunscreen, you want to steer clear of any additional oil on your skin.

Fragranced/perfumed products are your enemy

Use fragrance/perfume-free products. Products with perfume are a strict no-no for you if you don’t want to irritate further or inflame your skin. Also, your products should be non-comedogenic.

No scrubbing and picking the skin

You don’t want to scrub hard or pick that pimply skin no matter how tempted you are. Picking leads to the formation of micro-tears in your skin, which forms a structure called biofilm. This can not only lead to more irritation but also hyperpigmentation.

Sunscreen is your biggest essential

Start getting really good with your sunblock/ sunscreen. It would be best if you used a broad-spectrum sunblock to avoid UVA and UVB rays. Go for physical sunscreen as opposed to chemical sunscreen. Your skin will dehydrate if you expose yourself to excessive sun. This will follow with more sebum production in your skin, causing acne.

Stay hydrated all the time

Your mom would have spent her whole life, reminding you to drink water regularly. Well, she was on point. Water is the key to keeping pimples under control. Water helps in keeping your liver under control which controls hormone production. Remember, hormonal disruption is the primary reason for acne breakout.

Control your junk food intake

Junk food is full of grease and harmful oils and spices. You don’t want that in your diet. These increase blood sugar levels. Avoid food like chips, pasta, white rice, white bread and flour, sugar, etc.

Instead, opt for yellow and orange fruits and vegetables such as carrots, apricots, and sweet potatoes, spinach and other dark green and leafy vegetables, tomatoes, blueberries, whole-wheat bread, brown rice, quinoa, turkey, pumpkin seeds, beans, peas, and lentils, salmon, mackerel, and other kinds of fatty fish and nuts.

All-in-all, your takeaway from here should be that acne/ blemish is a genetic condition that can be treated if you opt for a disciplined lifestyle. Live a stress-free life to avoid any further inflammation of acne. Remember, though, treating acne requires time and patience; it’s not a one-night game changer plan. You might also have to get treated medically by doctors. Still, don’t lose hope and continue to acknowledge yourself with love and care.
