Pick up the right cleanser for your skin type

A cleanse a day keeps impurities away. The first step in skincare, cleansing, can also be called one of the most essential steps in skincare. That’s because cleansing helps you remove all the germs, impurities, environmental dirt, pollution, and excess oil from your pores. In this article, The Health Fortune shows the selection of cleansers for all skin types.

Leaving your skin clean and refreshed, cleansing prepares your skin for the next steps of skincare. It’s basically making your skin a clean slate to work on. So, always start your skincare routine with a good cleanser. It is advisable to cleanse your face two times a day. Also, always use a gentle hand while cleansing.

You can also leave on the cleanser for around 1-2 minutes for better results. You can start your day by gently cleansing your face in the morning and end your day by cleansing it again. It helps eliminate and stop any dullness, pimples/acne, or clogged pores.

Choosing the Right Cleanser

An important aspect of cleansing is choosing the right cleanser for your skin type. The right cleanser would gently cleanse your face and won’t harm your skin by removing the healthy oils present on your skin.

You might have felt a stripping effect on your face after the use of your regular cleanser. Yeah, we don’t want that. A good cleanser leaves your skin feeling moisturized and stretchy.

Acne-prone Oily Skin

Choose a foam-based liquid cleanser if you have acne-prone or oily skin. This type of cleanser will develop into an airy foam once diluted with water and rubbed between your palms. It will help break down and remove the oil from your skin pores and dirt that can clog the pores.

Dry Skin

If you have flaky, dry, or eczema-prone skin, or if your skin becomes inflamed too quickly due to dehydration, you should choose a lotion or cream-based cleanser. Such cleansers are made using emollients like shea butter and glycerine. Therefore, they help in removing the unwanted impurities but at the same time also hydrate your skin.

Combination Skin

Combination skin types, people can choose either oil-based or foam-based liquid cleanser. They both work just fine on combination skin. You can also use both types of cleansers together in your daily life.

In the Korean skincare routines, they first use an oil-based cleanser to loosen the dirt and makeup, following it up with a form wash to remove excess oil. This regime will make your face look squeaky clean while your natural oils will remain intact.

Sensitive Skin

For a sensitive skin type, an oil-based cleanser is advised. It would guard your skin but at the same time will help in gripping the excess oil. Now, this sounds slightly funny, right? Actually, the oil lifts excess sebum, the oily substance produced by our skin glands.
Argan oil is a good example. Lightweight, non-comedogenic and, moisturizing in nature, it does the complete trick.

Mature Skin

If you have mature skin, it would be wise to use a melting balm as a cleanser as it would help soothe your skin while removing impurities. Such cleansers come in rich and butter-like formations, and as soon as you rub them against your skin, they melt into a liquid form.

You can either choose to use it without water or dilute it a little by mixing water into it. In the end, all that matters is for you to try and test different types of cleansers and understand what works best for you. Remember, cleansing forms a base for your skincare regime, and this step can’t be ignored.
